Five fires erupt in less than two hours Monday
BY JOHN HOMAN
Monday, October 8, 2007 12:18 PM CDT
WILLIAMSON COUNTY — Firefighters with the Williamson County Fire Protection District were kept busy early Monday morning, responding to five total fires covering a time frame of less than two hours.

Deputy Chief Jeremy Norris said Monday that the first call was received at 3:03 a.m. on the San Jose Road behind Ike’s Buick in the far west end of the county. There were two separate fires involving abandoned trailers.

When en route to the scene, firefighters were alerted to a pair of grass fires on Cardinal Road, just off West Grand Street near the Cambria Road intersection. Norris said he had to call in back-up help from the Cambria Fire Department. Some units were dispersed to the grass fires, while the others responded to the trailer fires.

And at 4:52 a.m., firefighters were back at it again — this time to a vacant trailer fire on Garfield Street in Colp.

Norris said each of the fires were suspicious.

“Fortunately, there were no injuries and the property loss was minimal.”
