How to help the animals of the Franklin County shelter

Donations of cat or dog food, litter, blankets and other items may be dropped off at Franklin County Animal Control, 13163 Oddfellow Lane in Benton from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To adopt an animal, call 439-9197. Phone service should be restored at the facility by Wednesday morning. Need is greatest for cat homes.

Monetary donations to help replace the facility and purchase equipment and supplies may be mailed to:

Franklin County Animal Control donations, P.O. Box 967, Benton IL 62812
