Two Perry County voting precincts combine polling places

DU QUOIN — Voters in two Du Quoin precincts will now have new polling places for the Feb. 5 primary election.

Perry County Clerk Kevin Kern announced Monday that the Du Quoin 4 and Du Quoin 5 precincts will share a polling location at the Liberty Church at 680 W. Main. Du Quoin 4 and Du Quoin 5 voters formerly voted at the nearby Bethel Lutheran Church and Haffner Hall, respectively.

The new polling place features additional parking, better handicap accessibility and more space for voter privacy.

Voters in both precincts received new voter registration cards reflecting the change last week.
