Warming centers still open to those in need
BY CODELL RODRIGUEZ, The Southern
Wednesday, February 13, 2008 12:11 PM CST
Power is being restored to homes in Johnson County, the Sheriff’s Office said, but a warming center is still available.

Those without power can go to Simpson Baptist Church, 7095 Illinois 147. Goreville Mayor Larry Vaughn said the center at Goreville Village Hall has closed because the village has power again.

Other warming centers in southernmost Illinois can be found in Goodner Hall at the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna; at the McClure Fire Department, East Cape Community Center and the Olive Branch Fire Department in Alexander County; the Community Center in Metropolis and the city council building in Brookport.
