Campbell Hill man arrested for alleged baseball bat assault

CAMPBELL HILL -- A Campbell Hill man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly hitting another man with a baseball bat.

Brad Smith, 20, was alleged to have hit another man with a bat during an argument, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

An ambulance from the Jackson County Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene, but the victim refused medical treatment.

Smith was taken to the Jackson County Jail, where he later posted bond and was released.
