UNION COUNTY - An Anna man faces a string of charges including criminal sexual assault and predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Robert “Pete” Lence, is being held at the Tri-County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond following an investigation that led to his arrest.
Lence is charged with the predatory criminal sexual assault stemming from actions he allegedly took against his girlfriend’s daughter, who was 13 at the time of the incident, according to a release issued by Union County State’s Attorney Allen W. James.
Those actions surfaced during an investigation into the man’s sexual assault of another minor, under the age of 13-years-old.
Lence was arrested for the offense and charged in March. He posted bond and was released.
The ongoing investigation against him led officers to new information and he was recently taken back into custody.
Lence also has two unresolved cases for assault and battery. The release said those incidents occurred prior to the sexual abuse charges and are unrelated.
