Blues on the River if the water doesn't quiver

VANSVILLE — Kaskaskia River flooding has subsided, but there are still some musicians who have the blues.

Blues on the River will feature the doleful tunes of Homegrown Review, Los Carnales Band, Melissa Neels Band, Lew Jetton and 61 South and Billy Peek (at left). The festivities begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in Water Street Bar and Grill.

Gate fee is $10 and the doors open at noon. Food and beverages will be available. Those attending may bring blankets, lawn chairs, tents. No coolers or pets are allowed. Contact 443-4616 or visit www.spartablues.com for more information.
