Carbondale Main Street moving farmer's market to Saturdays

CARBONDALE -- Beginning Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, Carbondale Main Street is moving its Mid-Week Farmers Market to the weekend.

After conducting a survey of its mid-week vendors, CMS found that their needs would be better served by a Saturday venue.

The market will serve the community on Saturdays from 8 am to noon in the parking lot across from Tres Hombres.

If you have any questions or if you’d like to vend on Saturdays in the Town Square, please call Carbondale Main Street at 618-529-8040.

" I am a vendor who has talked with the Main Street office about this- they are actually working with the Murdale market, not trying to compete against it. Also, they are offering a place for the vendors that can't get into the Murdale market. They are trying to bring more of a selection to Carbondale, and trying to serve more local vendors. All of that should have been included in the article... "
